Mr Solomon Adiyiah, CEO and Principal Consultant, eSolutions Consulting, on Friday said the increasing rate at which government agencies and businesses were adopting new technologies was a sure way to address the challenges of poverty reduction, a most critical issue facing the country.
Speaking at a media interaction in Accra, Mr Adiyiah said most Ghanaian organisations were heavily dependent on manual processes with poor data collection and reporting methods, which did not augur well for accelerated development. The media interaction was to expose media executives and prospective clients to existing eSolutions in efforts to help promote the ethos of value based business and technology consulting in the country. He said few organisations with Information Technology (IT) systems found themselves managing very rudimentary IT environments and unreliable network infrastructures.
In addition, such organisations lacked the rigorous management disciplines and frameworks necessary to maximise efficiency of scarce IT resources, improve the reliability of systems, and reduce IT expenditures. Mr. Adiyiah said provision of effective business and IT consulting services would help the country’s corporate institutions make the necessary advances in the field of acquiring new technologies to help create jobs and generate growth in both public and private sectors.
“Organisations require services and solutions that help simplify their business processes through technology enablement and create a streamlined, flexible environment that would facilitate them to respond more rapidly and efficiently to change”.
“Making a business more agile reduces the time taken to launch new products, customer retention and new customer acquisition, facilities expansion, and allows businesses to adopt new, leaner processes to create a competitive advantage,” he said. Mr Adiyiah said the interaction would create a common platform for industry players and policy makers to brainstorm on ideas to help improve organisation’s operations through best practices in Business and IT Strategic Planning and Transformation, IT Infrastructure Management, Business Process Improvement, Technical Project Management, Outsourcing.
“Drawing on our experience, we believe we can help organisations improve their operations through best practices,” he added.
